The Rawson’s Retreat range of wines was affectionately named after our founder’s family cottage which he built in 1845, one year after he planted his first vineyard on the property.
Deep red, bright with good depth of colour.
Hints of clove and cinnamon spice backed by mocha tones and dark fruits add complexity to the aromatics.
Ripe fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackcurrant characters reminiscent of Christmas pudding dominate the palate. This is balanced with soft rounded tannins, fresh coffee bean flavours and mixed spice from the use of oak. Medium length and finish.
